Higher Education in England
Higher education in England is presented by the system of universities, you may choose among the sate and among the private universities, it is up to you to make a choice. The first degree, which one is able to earn at the university, is a degree of Bachelor. As a rule, a person receives such a degree after three years of education. However, some universities have started to provide Master’s degree as a first degree, though the education lasts for four years. In some universities you are able to find vocationally-based Foundation degree. It is a great choice for those students, who are dreaming to receive a first degree, but still to remain working. Such educational program lasts for two years.
Students; who have received the first degree, may opt to receive an postgraduate degree: Master’s degree or Doctorate Degree. However, the selection of the candidates is very strict.
One also has an opportunity to earn some special degrees in order to become more competitive while trying to be employed: Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), Certificate in Education (Cert Ed), C&G 7407 or Bachelor of Education (BA or BEd), Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Bachelor of Laws LL.B., Bachelors of Medicine and Surgery studied at Medical school (United Kingdom), Master of Business Administration MBA.
