Anglia Ruskin University

Anglia Ruskin University is originated from the Cambridge School of Art., which was opened in 1858 by John Ruskin. This college became a polytechnic in 1991, it changed its name  for Anglia Polytechnic and achieved the status of university in 1992. However, still such a name was not a satisfying one, and after  the long time of debates and thousand of offers, it became Anglia Ruskin University.

This university occupies 13th place among the largest universities of United Kingdom. It is considered to be the first in face-to-face part-time training within the whole U.K. ARU is the place of birth for 5 school of Optometry. It as its own eye diagnostic clinic.

In 2008, 3 July, Anglia Ruskin University is accepted into the green League, and it is a grate vet for all the professors and students of the university.

ARU has a rather powerful partnership. It has close relationships with Braintree College, Cambridge Regional College, Cambridge Theological Federation, Chelmsford College, The College of West Anglia, Epping Forest College, Harlow College, Huntingdonshire College, Norwich School of Art & Design, Peterborough Regional College, SEEVIC College, Suffolk Postgraduate and Research Centre and Thurrock & Basildon College, Marshall University. T is a rather impressive list, is not it?
