Getting a degree in Britain

In Britain the variety of degrees is great. There are Masters (Postgraduate) Degrees. To get it you are to attend four-year courses. Often they are ‘sandwich’ courses – you may have one year of studying abroad. If you already have an undergraduate degree, you may complete a one-year course and get a Masters degree as well. Of course the most popular degree is the so-called MBA (Master of Business Administration). Every year Britain has about 10,000 graduates annually, among them a great number of MBAs.

Masters in Research is the other type of Masters degrees. Students get prepared for the doctoral research. A Doctorate is the highest British qualification. It takes at least four years to obtain it. You need a very good first degree, and even better a Masters degree if you want to become a Master in Research.

The variety of courses presented in the British higher institutions is wide. Many of them include practical as well as research, taught and modular elements. Remember about the peculiar aspects of each course, and choose the most appropriate for you. Decide whether the learning should be distance, part-time or full. Many companies, by the way, support their workers financially so that they could get a higher degree etc. But if you want to concentrate on the qualification, choose the full-time. Though if you have your own family, maybe distance learning is better for you, you’ll be able to study at home.

Find the best courses and enjoy your new career achievements!
